Finding good quality images to use in projects can be a mission. One solution could be to create the images in a studio (or on location) with a professional photographer, but if time and budget don’t allow for this luxury we have to turn to stock photography.
A free and completely viable alternative I use and love is Pixabay, a community driven library of royalty free images. Anyone can sign up and get access to a fairly vast library of high quality, royalty free images. These images can be used commercially, and with modification which is really nice. The community assesses all photos submitted so the quality control is also fairly good.
The ads on the site get removed in exchange for successfully submitting 10 photos, which is a great incentive to keep the library growing, and small donations can be given to users if you feel so inclined.
All in all, Pixabay provides a great way to gain access to and create really great royalty free stock photography, and I somehow always feel kinda proud seeing people downloading and using photos I’ve taken!
